Lydia and I got lucky and were assigned adjoining rooms. That will be a time saver when we have to head out in the mornings. We’re at the Strand Palace, a beautiful art deco style hotel in the theatre district. I don’t know why I am always with intrigued with art deco – it must have been important to me in a previous life. The river Thames is only 3 blocks away, and the concierge assured us that it is a safe walk in the early evening. Maybe tomorrow.
The hotel is lovely and it’s late, but with the time zone difference I am still on my clock for just leaving the office and cooking dinner, not heading to bed. I think I will just surf the net for a bit and take a long soak in the tub in an hour or two. The hard part will be tomorrow when the jet lag catches up with me.
