Shopping for a Good Watch

With my son’s new construction business taking off (another pun for the Huntsville rocket connection) and his birthday coming up on the first, I’ve been racking my brains for a good birthday present. I talked to my daughter-in-law this morning and she is getting him a new camcorder that records to DVD. Since he’s a gadget freak, I’m sure he’ll like that.

I’m trying to think of something a little more personal and so far the best idea is a new watch. I would like to get him something that is really tough – working in construction is hard on watches. My ex-husband would go through 2 or 3 watches every year, as the regular cheap watches just aren’t tough enough to survive on a job site. But I’ve heard about the Casio G-Shock watch being tough and having some great features, so I’ve been looking at those on the website.

The casio watch that I like best is a G-Shock that has both 12 and 24 hour formats, and since he’s working for the military and government that would help a lot. This watch also has four daily alarm settings, a snooze alarm and a countdown timer, from 1 to 60 minutes and down. I think those features would be very useful on a job site.
