The little bit of Spanish I learned in high school still comes in handy every once in a while. I like that I can understand what Latinos are saying to their children. But when adults start talking amongst themselves really fast, they totally lose me in what they are saying. My friend, Peto, will sometimes translate things for me if we are out together and that becomes a problem. But most of the time, I can get by in the United States with a smile and a shake of the head.
