Getting on the Web

Years ago I helped get the company I worked for onto the internet. It was a very small office and money was tight, but I was determined to find a way to get a website and email addresses for them. My persistence paid off – we got several leads from that site that resulted in deals with two companies and numerous referrals.

One way for a small business to save money and get their foot in the door with a web site is to use a shared hosting provider. There are many templates out there for nice site designs and anyone who can sit down and work with it for a day or two can put up a simple website on their own. The right host can also give you email addresses, spam filters and other technical goodies.
