About a block behind the condos are some of the older homes. Besides frat boys from Vandy, evidently we have some eccentrics, too. One of the neighbors has put out a little diorama with these huge black rats. So funny! Wonder what the story is behind that. . . ?

Sorry to See Edwards Go
Author: selenaJan 30
Bummer – Edwards has dropped out of the race. I wish he had stuck it out through Super Tuesday. Wonder if it was his own decision or if something else was going on in the background?
Between Hillary and Obama – tough choice. I don’t respect Hillary for letting hubby run around on her. When she and the whole country found out, she should have kicked him to the curb. Would’t have cared if she managed to forgive him a couple months down the road, but to just put up with it, NO. And what kind of message does that send to our countries enemies? Screw me over, it’s OK.
Obama – doesn’t have the political experience to handle the oval office. You can hear his fumbling in his candid comments. He is too naive to be a good leader so soon. Wish he would be a VP first so he would have some international exposure. Just don’t think he can handle it. Plus I just heard he is standing up for illegals having the right to get a drivers license. Hold on, cowboy. Drivers Licenses are a STATE issue – non of the Fed’s business! And send the damn illegals back across the border. And while you are at it, lock up the money grubbers who are knowingly hiring the illegals. If there was no money to be had, they wouldn’t be coming here.
Peace out.
High Tech Training Methods
Author: selenaJan 30
Our training department had a webinar today for the franchisees and I was invited to sit in. It was an interesting way to get our message across to the franchisees but to also get instant feedback from the participants.
All participants logged in on their own store or home office computers and could see and hear the subject matter simultaneously. They could speak up or text questions during and after the presentation. It was all very impressive and I think it was an effective method to deliver the information.
After the webinar I was asked to give feedback on the whole experience. The training department has started using online surveys to get anonymous and therefore honest answers to questions like, “Do you feel the subject matter will be useful in your business?” The answers are tallied and used to evaluate to materials and the instructors. Very cool.
Egad! My Drivers License is about to Expire!
Author: selenaJan 30
It’s the kind of thing you don’t think about . . . once you get your driver’s license, having to renew it just isn’t something on your mind. I had to show my driver’s license today at the convenience store, and the clerk mentioned that it is about to expire. Oh my gosh – I had no idea but what a mess I would be in if it DID expire. With all this travel on my schedule, I can’t even get on an airplane without a valid ID. Taking care of that is on the top of tomorrow’s “To Do” list.
Putting my new Spanish skills to good use
Author: selenaJan 30
Our master franchisee in Mexico has invited me to his his first annual convention for the franchisees in Mexico and Guatemala in March. That sounds intriguing – I have not been to Mexico before, but that country is a growth area for our company. I’m going to be taking Spanish lessons on the company’s dime, and I’m thinking a trip to his meeting would be beneficial to both the company and his franchisees.
He’s planning to have it someplace nice, so the franchisees will want to bring their families with them for a long weekend. The wives and kids can swim or go shopping while the men are in the meetings during the day. He mentioned Rocky Point, which has beautiful condos right on the beach. I’m going to see if I can get a nice place and maybe stay an extra day or two.
