Love My Gaming And My Music

Since I was a young child, I have always enjoyed playing games on some sort of gaming device, whether it is an Atari, a Nintendo, a Super Nintendo, a Sega Genesis, a Playstation, or even an Xbox. My all time favorite gaming system would have to be the Playstation 3, it is by far the best. It has so many awesome features, and not to mention a wide selection of games to play on or offline. I had no idea I would be using it as much as I do, or I would have bought it as soon as it came out.

I use it to not only play video games, but to watch Blue Ray movies, check my Facebook, have video chats with friends and family, download music, watch Netflix and so much more. I have recently located a great woodwind brasswind retail store that I have written a bit about on Facebook as well. I can’t imagine life without Facebook.

I honestly can not wait to see what Sony has in-store for the upcoming Playstation 4. What can I say other then I love my gaming! And thank the good lord for all the various types music (old and new) that we have access to with just a few short key strokes!

Pearls

Ever notice how the Queen always seems to wearing a strand of pearls with every outfit when she goes out in public? Her Pearls and her hats are her trademark. I think most women of my generation have at least one good strand of pearls. I inherited mine from my grandmother and I love them dearly.

I would love to have another pearl necklace, though. I’ve had my eye on some new designs, like the stylish two tone designs. I don’t know if the black and white is supposed to be symbolic of anything, like a lifestyle choice, so I had better check on that before I make a stupid mistake. But if this trip goes well I hope to have at least one afternoon of shopping and I would love to take home a new pearl necklace as my souvenir from London. But if I don’t find any bargains on this trip, I know I can order quality pearls from the Pearl Outlet website.

Selena will have her pearls!

The Portable Keyboard Section

Being able to transport “equipment has always been a challenge in so many businesses. The good news is that so much of today’s equipment has been made with that in mind so we are seeing so many things getting smaller and smaller, which generally makes it easier to pack, store and transport.

Funny how the first cell phones started out being so large and cumbersome, actually they started out as being what we call “mobile phones” that people bought so that they could make and receive phone calls while being in their vehicle. It took a good long while for them to evolve into what we now call “cell phone” that people can carry with them virtually anywhere they want and/or need as long as they have a signal.

The size of these phones got smaller and smaller, but now a days we are seeing them get bigger and bigger, I guess they need to be bigger in order to do all the things that we now need and use them for.

Keyboards are a good example of how a smaller version plays an important role for folks in need of a portable digital piano, Ever since D.J.s have taken over in so many venues that used to hire live bands, it is a real treat to see a live show and one can only imagine how long it takes these bands to pack up all of their equipment and transport everything needed to perform.

I was looking online to see the keyboards that are being used these days. I have to say that I was impressed with the variety of keyboards on the market these days and how there is a wide range of prices being asked for them. I miss seeing live bands. I remember good times a plenty back in the day when they would hold “Battle of the Bands” which caused the place to rock until the wee hours of the night.

While looking around at the various keyboards I also managed to come across a couple of great deals for a sweat looking laney ironheart tube guitar amp. It’s currently going for $849. I’ve been waiting for it to get below $750. Guess I’ll keep looking and waiting. At least going online is easier than jumping around all the various brick and mortar music stores.

Surge Protectors

We have a variety of surge protectors scattered around the house and don’t usually give them much thought. I have felt like I did my part – buying not the cheapest but reasonably priced equipment and protecting my electronics.

All of this expense and effort on my part was completely wasted this morning when lightning hit my house. It burned a hole by the front door, attracted by a tiny finishing nail that was holding the trim onto the wall. The lightning made the doorbell ring and then everything that was plugged into a wall socket came on for a brief instant and then everything went permanently dark. The computers, the printer, the TVs, the surround sound speakers, my fairly new rex speaker, the component stereo, the Playstation, the Wii, the telephone, the DVD player – all are dead.

All my electronics fried, even though they were plugged into surge protectors. I guess the lightning was too big of a surge for them to work. I don’t know what else I could have done to protect my electronics other than completely unplugging them from the wall every night before bed. Who wants to do that every night?

Marilyn Is Getting Started

Another friend of mine, named Marilyn Mueller, has joined the band wagon (or should I say, blog wagon) and started up a blog about her life and thoughts. I am always excited to find other people I know blogging, it is like a connection we then share.

I am glad to read and hear and sometimes see what other people have to say about what is important to them. She has some great tips for bloggers on her blog, so anyone interested in making your blog a little better should check out her SEO posts.
