Tools For Today’s People

Right now is a great time to live and work with all of the latest technology at our fingertips. I feel sorry for so many people that don’t have access to so much that we all use on a daily basis without as much as blinking an eye. For example, the people that have been locked away in a medical institution (for whatever reason) and then there are of course the folks that have been locked up behind bars that have no idea of what even a cell phone can and is used for. Most of our cell phones do so much more than just allow us to make phone calls. I don’t even know if I could explain what a app is or how helpful they are turning out to be for so many people and businesses.

My sister has been finding some real estate apps and sharing her finds on Facebook pages for her friends, family and fellow co-workers in the real estate field. Wow, wouldn’t it be like totally weird not to even know what Facebook is? Anyway like I said this really is a great time to be able to utilize all the tools that we are being turned onto and purchasing as fast as they can think of and then produce them. Look how popular personal computers are and what a long way they have become.

Ready for a New Cell Phone

My cell phone has been good to me, but it is not a “smart phone” and all my friends have the Androids and iPhones and it is getting hard to justify not getting a smart phone, too. There are all these really cool features and apps for the smart phones that you just can’t get on a regular, old school cell phone.

My favorite app that I’ve seen so far is the one that disables the phone ringer when you are sleeping. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to get some sleep and someone calls me and wakes me up. That makes me so mad, but with my old school phone there is no way to stop it from ringing unless I turn the whole phone off. So, if you want to use the cell phone as an alarm clock, you have to leave the phone on and take the chance that people won’t be calling you. With the smart phone, you can use the alarm clock AND the call block to make sure you get your sleep undisturbed.

Finding the Newest Apps

After the thrill of having a brand new iPad in your hand wears off, you get down to business with it. The learning curve is pretty short, mainly because it is an Apple product. But learning all the new ways to use the iPad and finding apps that you can’t live without takes a couple of weeks. Then most people tend to not keep looking for new apps – they get into their comfort zone and stop shopping for new apps. Then there are people like me and the other Geeks who want the latest and greatest of apps – we are app junkies. So here is what my friends and I count on to let us know what’s new with apps – it’s an app from AppZap!

AppZapp the App Bargain Guide for the Apple App Store for iPhone & iPad is an app that you can download from iTunes on either your iPad or iPhone and it has a lot of cool features, including automatic notifications by text message of new apps.

My IT guy showed me their web site one day at lunch. I knew right away that it was a great idea. Sometimes the IT guys get together on Monday mornings and have a little “department meeting” – when all they really want to do is show off to each other the newest apps that they’ve downloaded. LOL
