Thomas the Train

What is it about the Thomas the Train movies that grabs the attention of kids everywhere? They are nothing more than a man reading a story book out loud, like any parent reads a bedtime story. And they are in British words and phrases, easy enough for an American to understand, but obviously different from what the kids here are used to hearing.

My grandson absolutely loves anything that has to do with Thomas the Train. I can send him any present – a book, a new train, a sticker book – that has Thomas on it and he loves it. I even found a website for him to play Thomas games and watch short Thomas the Train videos on the internet when he comes for a visit.

Now Darlene Has Started A Blog

There seems to be a pattern here lately! As well as my other two friends, my friend, (a former co worker) Darlene, started a blog recently, and asked me what I think she should use for software. I told her to get a WordPress blog, since they are the best, in my opinion. She almost spent money on a type-pad blog, but decided against it after I showed her how cool my blog was.

If her blog is anything like she is in real life, it will be worth reading over and over again, and I am looking forward to reading her thoughts on her blog – as should you at DarleneMackenzie.com.

Monica Now Has Her Own Blog Too

Monica, my neighbor, recently launched her WordPress blog and has been posting on it ever since seeing mine. She has so many great stories to tell whenever we get together, so I know her blog will be worth reading time and time again.

If you have a friend that always entertains and makes jokes and is always in good mood, Monica is like that person. Always outgoing and witty, she is sure to brighten anyone’s day with her charm and passion for life.

Marilyn Is Getting Started

Another friend of mine, named Marilyn Mueller, has joined the band wagon (or should I say, blog wagon) and started up a blog about her life and thoughts. I am always excited to find other people I know blogging, it is like a connection we then share.

I am glad to read and hear and sometimes see what other people have to say about what is important to them. She has some great tips for bloggers on her blog, so anyone interested in making your blog a little better should check out her SEO posts.

Lori McKenna – Worth a Listen

This woman is such an inspiration. She is a talented songwriter and singer, and has an album out called, “Unglamourous.” The title song has a video out that is such a sweet nostalgic trip back to a typical middle class childhood. She sings about how plain their life was but also how good it was. To think that Lori McKenna raised five kids and kept a home in Boston, looks great, and still found time to launch a recording career is just awesome.

Lori is on tour with Trisha Yearwood this year. If you have a chance to catch their concert, I think you will be as impressed as I was.
